Ring Doorbell Security Check: See Who Has Access

Your Ring doorbell and cameras are only as private as the accounts and phones that can reach them. The Control Center in the Ring app shows exactly who has access. Check it in two minutes.

1. Open the Control Center

In the Ring app open the menu and tap Control Center.

Ring app > Menu > Control Center

2. Remove unknown devices

Under Authorized Client Devices, check every phone, tablet and computer signed in to your account. Remove any you do not recognize or no longer use.

Control Center > Authorized Client Devices

3. Review shared users

Under Shared Users, remove anyone who no longer needs access, like a former roommate or a contractor.

Control Center > Shared Users

4. Lock down the account

Keep two-step verification on, and use a unique password for your Ring account. A password reused from a breached site is the most common way camera accounts get taken over.

FAQ

Can someone watch my Ring camera without me knowing?

Anyone signed in to your account or added as a shared user can view live video and recordings. That is why checking Authorized Client Devices and Shared Users matters.

Should I change my Ring password after removing a device?

Yes, if you removed a device you did not recognize. Change the password and make sure two-step verification is on.
