5 Problems iPhone Duo Owners Report in Week One
The iPhone Duo sold out on day one, but early owners and reviewers are reporting real issues. Here are the five most common, and which ones an update can fix.
1. Inner screen cracks
Some owners report cracks or lines on the folding screen. Apple says it affects a small number of units and will replace them through AppleCare.
2. Apps not ready
Many social, banking and game apps aren't optimized for the 7.6-inch inner screen yet and show black bars. Safari also leaves unused space. Developer updates fix this over time.
3. Heat
Some owners say the phone gets hot on a wireless charger or while scrolling. Setup tasks like indexing can cause heat in the first days.
4. Camera
A 48MP main and ultra-wide on the back, but no telephoto, so zoom past 2x is soft. The 4MP under-screen inner camera is fine for FaceTime at best.
5. Software bugs
Reports of wrong camera orientation in some apps, Dynamic Island and right-edge glitches, and accidental touches. Expect fixes in iOS updates.

FAQ
Should I return it?
If the screen cracks, contact AppleCare. For heat and app issues, give it a few days and install updates first.
Will an update add zoom?
No. Telephoto needs a lens the Duo doesn't have.
