Move From Android to iPhone (Move to iOS, iPhone 18 Pro and Duo)

Apple's Move to iOS app copies photos, contacts, messages and more from Android to a new iPhone. It only works during iPhone setup, so read this before you finish setting up.

1. Start on the iPhone

On the Quick Start screen, tap Set Up Without Another Device, then Transfer Your Apps & Data, From Android, Transfer with App.

Set Up Without Another Device › Transfer Your Apps & Data › From Android

2. On Android

Install Apple's Move to iOS app from Google Play, open it, tap Continue and accept the terms.

3. Connect them

On the iPhone, tap Continue to see a 6 or 10 digit code. Enter it on Android, then join the iPhone's temporary Wi-Fi network when asked.

4. Choose and wait

Pick the content to transfer. Leave both devices alone until the loading bar on the iPhone finishes. A USB-C cable between the phones can make it faster.

5. Without the app

Apple also describes a method without the app for Android 17 or later on supported phones: choose Transfer without App and scan the QR code with the Android camera.

FAQ

I already finished setting up my iPhone. Can I still use Move to iOS?

Only by erasing the iPhone and starting setup again: Settings › General › Transfer or Reset iPhone › Erase All Content and Settings.

Will my apps come over?

Free apps that also exist on the App Store can be suggested; paid apps and app data depend on the developer.
