Microsoft Word Track Changes: Edit, Review, Accept All

Track Changes shows every edit in a Word document, who made it and when, so nothing slips through and you never need a file called final_FINAL_v3.docx again.

1. Turn it on

Click Review > Track Changes, or press Ctrl + Shift + E on Windows (Cmd + Shift + E on Mac). Edits now show in color with the author's name.

Review > Track Changes (Ctrl + Shift + E)

2. Choose how much markup you see

Review > Display for Review: All Markup shows every change, Simple Markup keeps the page clean with a red line in the margin.

Review > Display for Review > All Markup

3. Go through each change

Use Review > Next to jump to each change and click Accept or Reject.

Review > Next > Accept / Reject

4. Finish the document

When you are done, Review > Accept > Accept All Changes, then turn Track Changes off and delete any leftover comments before you send the final version.

Review > Accept > Accept All Changes
