Move Everything to a New Phone (iPhone and Android)

Moving to a new phone takes one step if you do it during setup. Here's the right tool for every combination.

Quick Start: turn on the new iPhone and place it next to the old one, then follow the prompts.

During setup choose Copy apps & data and connect the old phone with a cable (fastest) or Wi-Fi. Samsung: Smart Switch.

During Android setup choose to copy from an iPhone (cable is best), or use Samsung Smart Switch.

Install Move to iOS on the Android phone; on the new iPhone choose Move Data from Android during setup.

FAQ

Already set up the new phone?

iPhone: Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Erase, then set up again. Android: reset or use Smart Switch / Google backup.

Do WhatsApp chats move?

Use WhatsApp's own transfer (Settings > Chats > Transfer chats) when switching between iPhone and Android.
